St. Augusta Gussies 8, Cold Spring Rockies 7

The Gussies topped CVL rivals, the Rockies 8-7, they scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to overcome a 7-3 deficit. A bases load double by Nate Loudenbach, drove in 2 runs was a big hit, to set up the big blow of the game. Adam Gwost stepped up to the plate with runners at 2nd and 3rd. On the first pitch he hit a towering drive of 380 feet plus into the trees, for a 3 run walk off home run. Adam was 3-4 on the day with his 3 run homer and a total of 4 RBI's on the day. Nate Laudenbach went 3-5 with a double and a home run for 3 big RBI's. Dustin Schultzenberg had a great day, he went 3-5 with a double and he scored a run and Marcus Lommel went 2-4, walked and scored 3 runs. Aaron Fruth went 1-4 and Nate Gwost went 1-4 for the Gussies. Dan Swan earned the the win with 1 2/3 innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit, 1 run and 1 walk. Aaron Fruth started and he went 4 innings and Nate Laudenbach threw 3 1/3 innings of relief.

The Rockies pounded out 16 hits on the day, led by Jake Hennen, he went 3-5 with a double and a home run and 2 RBI's. Kevin Wenner went 3-4 with a double, 2 walks, scored 1 run and 4 stolen bases. Kirby Tebrake went 2-4 with 2 RBI's and he walked and Calvin Kalthoff went 3-5 with a walk and he scored 3 runs. Mason Ruegemer went 2-5 with a RBI, Jordan Neu went 2-4 with a RBI and Mike Holbrook went 1-5. Chris Lardy was the pitcher of record for the Rockies, as he threw all 9 innings.
