KIMBALL – Adam Theis threw eight innings while giving up just three hits in the Express’ Central Valley League victory.
Rick Burtzel took the loss. Theis also went 3-for-5 while Brooks Marquardt, Adam Beyer and Austin Ruehle all had two hits. Beyer drove in three runs.
Kimball finished 9-5 in the Central Valley South. The No. 1-seeded Express will open the league playoffs next Sunday at 2 p.m. against No. 4 St. Nicholas in Kimball.
No. 3 Cold Spring will travel to take on the No. 2-seeded Eden Valley Hawks in the other South first-round game at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
