The Gussies of St. Augusta topped Central Valley League rivals 6-4 and a trip to the state baseball tourney. Zach Laundenbach threw 8 strong innings, as he scattered 9 hits, walked 4 and he record 8 big strikeouts. Aaron Fruth earned the save with one inning of relief, he recorded 3 strikeouts and gave up just one hit. Nate Gwost may have had his best game as amateur player, as he went 3-4 with a home run and 4 big RBI's. Brady Grafft went 2-4, Aaron Fruth went 1-4 with a RBI and Nate Laudenbach went 1-3 with 2 runs scored.

 

Blaine Athmann was the pitcher of record as he threw 8 innings, he scattered 7 hits, walked one and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Chris Lardy threw one inning of relief facing just 3 batters. David Jonas led the Rockies, as he went 2-4 with double, walk and 1 RBI and Ryan Bell had a very good game as he went 3-4 with a RBI and sacrifice. Paul Schreiner went 1-3 with a walk, and Rick Burtzel went 1-4 with a RBI. Kevin Wenner went 2-5, Jeff Lindbloom and Mike Holbrook each had a base hit.
