Rockies squeeze past Hawks

 

COLD SPRING – John Rossman's suicide-squeeze bunt brought in David Jonas for the top-seed Cold Spring Rockies' game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

 

Cold Spring scored twice in the ninth to beat No. 4 Eden Valley 7-6 in the Central Valley League South Division Playoffs.

 

Josh Porwoll went 3-for-3 with three doubles, an RBI and two runs scored and Ryan Bell was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

 

The Rockies (12-3 CVL, 17-5 overall) play Watkins at 7 p.m. Sunday in Cold Spring.

 

Josh Schumacher went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI and Jake Anderson was 2-for-4 with a double for Eden Valley.

 

The Hawks play Pearl Lake at 2 p.m. Sunday in Marty.
