Recap for the 06/28/2014 Cold Spring Baseball Day at the Park

COLD SPRING – All three Cold Spring amateur baseball teams won their games during play at the second annual Day at the Park event held at the Cold Spring Baseball Park Saturday.

 

The Over-35 Silver Springers opened up the first of three games on the day by beating the Richmond Royals 1-0. Darren Heying drove in the lone run for Cold Spring.

 

Dave Hinkemeyer threw a complete game shutout to pick up the victory.

 

The Cold Spring Rockies then took on New Munich and came out victorious 1-0 in 13 innings. Marshall Wirtzfeld laid down a sacrafice bunt that scored Mason Ruegemer in the bottom of the 13th.

 

The Cold Spring Springers finished the day with a 4-0 win over Lake Henry.

 

Reed Pfannenstein, who just finished his freshman season at North Dakota State, pitched a complete game three-hitter while striking out 10.

 

Garrett Fuchs went 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Springers. Jon Lieser went 1-for-1 for Lake Henry.
