Bird Island 6, Cold Spring Rockies 5

 

EDEN VALLEY — Bird Island scored two in the seventh to tie the game at 5 and Shawn Dollerschell hit a two-out solo homer in the eighth to give it the lead. Cody Fruin gave up three hits and one unearned run with eight strikeouts to get the win in relief.

 

 

Raymond 4, St. Augusta 1

 

EDEN VALLEY — Tyler Knott threw a six-hitter with four strikeouts and one walk to lead the Rockets. Zach Nelson hit a two-run homer in the sixth for Raymond, which added two more in the bottom of the eighth.

Zach Laudenbach went the distance and took the loss. He gave up 10 hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.

 

 

Sacred Heart 5, Pearl Lake 3

 

EDEN VALLEY — The Saints took advantage of two errors to score two runs in the fifth to take the lead.

 

Adam Loe went seven innings to get the win and Jeremy Hinderks struck out two in a scoreless ninth to get the save.

 

Hinderks hit a two-run homer in the third. Pearl Lake tied the game at 2 in the fourth on back-to-back homers by Bryan Hennen and Steve Loesch.

 

Loesch was 2-for-5 and two RBI for the Lakers.

 

In the regional today, the Cold Spring Rockies plays St. Augusta at 11 a.m. in an elimination game, Pearl Lake plays the loser of the Kimball/Milroy game in an elimination game at 1:30 p.m. and Sacred Heart plays the winner of the Kimball/Milroy game in a winner’s bracket game at 6:30 p.m.

 

LATE SATURDAY

 

KIMBALL 7, MILROY 4

 

EDEN VALLEY — Kimball won late Saturday night over the Milroy Yankees in the Region 11C playoffs.

 

Matt Dingman earned the win. Brooks Marquardt hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth for Kimball.
