C. Spring Rockies 4, Watkins 2

 

WATKINS — John Rossman went 8 1/3 innings and Chris Lardy got the final two outs for the save.

 

Mike Ficker went 4-for-4, David Jonas was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Rick Burtzel was 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBI for the Rockies.

 

Dan Berg was 3-for-4 and Kevin Kramer and Noah Czech each had two hits for the Clippers. Mike Beier took the loss.

 

Watkins is host to Pearl Lake at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

 

 

Central Valley


 

Pearl Lake 9, Luxemburg 0

 

MARTY — Nick Roeder tossed seven shutout innings, striking out 13, walking three and scattering three hits, to lead the Lakers past the Brewers in a Central Valley League North Divison playoff game.

 

Mitch Wieneke went 3-for-3 with a double, Bryan Henne was 2-for-3 with a double and Steve Krippner was 2-for-4 with a double for Pearl Lake.

 

Kimball 8, St. Augusta 7

 

KIMBALL — The Express took an 8-2 lead through three innings, then withstood St. Augusta’s five-run seventh inning to clinch a Region 11C berth.

 

Kimball plays a seedings game Saturday in Kimball against an opponent to be determined. The regional is in Eden Valley the following week.

 

Against St. Augusta, Alec Erhard was 3-for-5 with two RBI, Adam Beyer was 2-for-5 with a grand slam in the second. Brian Marquardt was 2-for-3 with a double and Kyle Wenner was 2-for-5 with a double.

 

Matt Dingmann got the pitching win. Brooks Marquardt went 2 1/3 innings to get the save.

 

For St. Augusta, Dave Fritz, Andrew Gwost and Aaron Fruth all had two hits. St. Augusta is host to a playoff game at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
